I was thinking, agriculture in space will bind us to the earth. To find out how, read my latest piece in Food for Mzansi! Take a look: https://www.foodformzansi.co.za/farming-on-mars-where-would-we-even-start/

Thank you for the feedback!
Your article about space agriculture is fantastic and quite prescient.
You spoke about some things I hadn't considered before.
Space radiation and even something as simple as soil pose some interesting challenges for space agriculture.
I have heard that we could create an atmosphere on Mars by emitting green house gases - something that we good at doing here on earth. An atmosphere on Mars would mitigate the radiation and maybe even create a weather system that could nurture the soil.
I do disagree with the animal agriculture part though. In Star Trek every one eats artificial meat or is vegetarian. I reckon that in space everyone will be vegan, because no one is going to spend six months aboard…
