A visit to Infruitec and Nietvoorbij Campuses of the Agricultural Research Council

I am fortunate to serve on the Council of the ARC. We held a Council meeting this week at Nietvoorbij Campus/farm. The ARC is a unique institution globally. It is staffed by very committed people and some of the world's best cultivars and agricultural tecnologies have been developed by them. It has and will play a key role in the development of South Africa and the world's food system. It truly is a remarkable organisation. At Nietvoorbij and Infruitec we witnessed not only the highest technology but also learnt about efforts to build appropriate technologies and programmes for emerging farmers and entrepreneurs.
