Naudé did his Masters research at the Tshikonelo Agricultural Project in Venda in the late 1990’s. He was studying participatory methodologies and the idea for iZindaba Zokudla came to him there: Can we substitute an event for a research method?
One of the things that concerned Naudé at this time is that methods are implemented only on one day. Why can we not meet regularly to discuss agricultural change? This is what the Farmers’ Lab wants to be: The court where we debate and discuss our food system!
